Shannon says those are the words that I used to introduce myself. I insist that I didn't say that until at least three sentences in. It's hard to say which of us is more surprised at finding the other. I was done with dating and focused on raising the kids. Shannon was busily hopping from one Delta Skyclub to the next (a lousy place to meet men, according to her).

I had forgotten that he still had a profile on a dating site until an email came in to let me know that I had a message. Purely out of curiosity, I read the message and checked her profile. I was astonished - if I could design the perfect woman, she would be just like Shannon - except for being in Atlanta. I decided there was no way I could pass up the chance to at least meet her.

We immediately fell into a very comfortable rhythm. After a few hundred hours of phone calls, FaceTime, trips to half of the southern states and one northern one (including finding out what happens when you go through airport security with no license), it was clear that we weren't getting away from each other. Making our crazy schedule, travel, and jobs in two cities work is going to be an adventure, but there's no one I'd rather have with me on it.
